German model left with chronic condition after paying £130,000 to extend her legs by 5.5 inches

German model left with chronic condition after paying £130,000 to extend her legs by 5.5 inches

Theresia Fischer's leg-lengthening procedure took her from 5"6' to over six foot

German model and reality TV star Theresia Fischer paid $160,000 for leg-lengthening treatment that has left her with a chronic condition.

Before the surgery, 32-year-old Theresia was 5"6' tall - making her three inches taller than the average woman in the UK.

Despite already being taller than countless women, Theresia decided to undergo surgery at just 24 years old which left her towering over 6 foot.

You're probably wondering how that works.

It turns out the procedure consists of inserting adjustable telescopic rods into the shins which are then gradually extended over time to increase leg length.

The extra five and a half inches Theresia gained cost her much more than just money, though - and she regrets it.

Back in 2022, Theresia told radio network MDR Jump that she underwent the procedure after her ex kept asking her to do it.

She said her ex told her: "Theresia, you know I like big ladies. So I would really like this. You could get up to 14cm more.”

She explained: "[He would say] ‘you can’t do anything without me, you need me’.

"And if you are told that 20,30 60, 70 times - then you believe that you are nothing without him.

"I've never dealt with that before because I've always been happy with my body."

She concluded: "I am ashamed because I consented to an operation that shouldn’t have had.”

This sad admission is now even more shocking as it has emerged Theresia's leg-lengthening has had a detrimental effect on her health.

She now suffers with periosteum inflammation, a condition which 'caused when a layer of connective tissue that surrounds bone becomes inflamed'.

The symptoms include bone tenderness, stiffness, fever and chills and swelling of tissue around the bone.

Theresia confirmed she 'can't wait' for the day the metal rods come out.

Despite the complications, Theresia has used her platform to embark on a series of reality shows, including Battle of the Reality Stars, Germany's Next Top Model and Celebrity Big Brother.

She also posts regular updates on her social media profiles, showing fans a glimpse into her day to day life.

Theresia recently shared a snap of her in a happy relationship with her boyfriend, captioned: "No matter what others think - no matter what others say, our mutual love has already endured all the ups & downs for 13 years that so many others could not even dream of."
