Too Hot to Handle’s Harry Jowsey issues warning to fans after being diagnosed with cancer

Too Hot to Handle alum Harry Jowsey has taken to social media to give fans a health update.

In a vulnerable TikTok video, the 26-year-old reality star addressed his five million followers and shared he has been diagnosed with cancer.

He began: “Hi friends, there isn’t really an easy way to say this.

“Last week I went to the dermatologist to get my skin checked and they found some skin cancer on me.

“I’m gonna be all good, everything’s gonna be okay, but I just wanted to make this post to let you know that summer’s around the corner, please wear sunscreen."

He continued: “Please go get your skin checked. If you’re a freckly little frog like me, go get a mole map and get your body checked because you never know.

“I’ve had this on my shoulder for, like, a year or two and I had no idea.

“I just wanna save and protect you guys out there. So go get your skin checked, wear your sunscreen, and be a little bit more responsible.

“That’s what I’ve gotta do now and it’s very scary. Anyway, love you guys. Stay safe.”

The Australian TV personality, who starred on the first season of smash-hit Netflix show Too Hot to Handle in 2020, didn’t go into detail about what kind of skin cancer he’s been diagnosed with.

Thanks to his reassurance that he’s going to ‘be okay’ in the now viral video, fans minds have been put at ease.

Many rushed to the comments to share their well wishes.

One person wrote: “I’ve been debating getting my one mark checked. What a sign! Thanks for raising awareness.”

Harry responded: “I hope it’s nothing serious.”

Another person comment: “We NEED more influencers to talk about this.”

Fellow reality star Joseph Garratt, who starred on Love Island, chimed: “Love you brother.”

The NHS website states the signs to look out for when trying to spot skin cancer are:

Melanoma skin cancer

• Mole with an uneven shape or edges
• Mole with a mix of colours
• Large mole
• Mole that changes over time
• Moles that are swollen and sore, bleeding, itchy and/or crusty

Non-melanoma skin cancer

A growth or unusual patch on the skin. They are most common in areas exposed to the sun, such as the:

• Head, face and ears
• Neck and shoulders
• Back
• Hands
• Lower legs
