Dylan Mulvaney shares defiant video celebrating 500 days of ‘being a girl’

The trans influencer hit back at online trolls in the celebratory video, which marked 500 days since Mulvaney publicly came out as trans

Dylan Mulvaney has celebrated a huge milestone in her transition.

The influencer posted a touching update to mark '500 days of being a girl', with the trans star revealing she made ‘so many awesome discoveries’ along the way.

However, the 26-year-old also defiantly hit back at the backlash surrounding her Bud Light campaign.

In fact, the Broadway actor even addressed this at the start of her TikTok video, saying that she’d ‘scaled back’ following the campaign.

She told her 10.7 million followers: “If I make the content that I want to make, and freely share my trans joy, I subject myself to a lot more trauma so lately, I’ve chosen to scale back in order to protect my overall well-being, and it works.

“I am quite happy, but I’m not doing what I love, so it’s kind of a bittersweet thing,” she added.

Her comments are particularly heartbreaking given that Mulvaney became an ambassador for the beer brand to celebrate the end of her ‘365 days of Girlhood’ series.

At the time, she shared promotional cans with her face on them - leading to a major boycott of Bud Light across the US.

However, this hasn’t stopped the star from celebrating her latest milestone.

During the seven-minute video, she confessed that she become much more self-aware since her iconic TikTok series had ended.

“I think I’ve learned more since Day 365 than I did in that whole first year,” she admitted.

The trans influencer also spoke candidly about her changing appearance.

She also gave fans an exciting update about her trans journey, revealing that she’d changed to hormonal injection on Day 422.

Mulvaney added that the new medication had really helped her, gushing: “It’s been really beautiful to watch my body change.”

She also joked that she’d learned that ‘blondes have more fun’ during the last few months, as the influencer candidly spoke about her changing relationship with her body.

Continuing, the actor said that she’d struggled with this - especially after the backlash when she felt she couldn't tell her story.

“…something really ugly happened these last few months where I started to believe that if I just got really pretty and if I stayed quiet, I could still find success,” she said, adding: “What kind of example is that setting?”

The influencer finished the lengthy video, which has been seen by 4.9 million people, by dedicating it to her younger self – who ‘didn’t get to celebrate so many awesome discoveries’.

She pointedly added: “Today is actually 9705 of being a woman because I’ve always been one. My four-year-old self knew that, my ten-year-old self knew that, my 15-year-old self knew that and they deserve to celebrate these wins too.”
