fans rejoice, the creator of the show has said Season 6 is set to be the 'best yet'. Quite the claim.
On the red carpet at The National Television Awards on Tuesday night, show creator Steven Knight said: "[It's going to be] better than ever. It's the best yet. It's moving the story forward.

"We always jump in time so we are into the '30s. Expect the unexpected.
"Because of the nature of the decade, the 30s, we know what happened at the end - that war began.
"There are rumblings and rumours of war and that is overshadowing the whole thing. It makes it all the more... the stakes are higher."

We were already excited, but when people involved in the show are raving about it, you just know you're in for a treat.
We did of course already know it would be set in the 1930s, which is in line with the plan for Season 7 to finish at the kick off of World War II.
So we know the sixth season will proceed to pan across a few years and demonstrate the rise of fascism beforehand.

Plus, we also know that the first episode of Season 6 is called "Black Day," thanks to a sneak peek of the script shared on Instagram last week.
The last season of the Birmingham gangster drama left Tommy Shelby fans despairing as it was left on one hell of a cliffhanger.
And the director, Anthony Byrne, who also worked on Season 5, has revealed that the show will pick up exactly where it left off - with Tommy despairing in the middle of a field.

Whatever happens, the creator sounds confident we'll love it. That reassurance, combined with the show's success over time is comforting.
In fact, on Tuesday at the NTAs, it scooped Best Drama and Best Drama Performance by Cillian Murphy who plays Tommy Shelby.
We still have a while to wait to see what's in store though as the show is in pre-production, so we're not expecting a launch of Series 6 until 2021.
