Denim Speedos Are The Summer Trend Absolutely No One Asked For

But if you want a pair, here they are.

If you're struggling to decide what to wear to the beach this summer, your prayers have been answered; fashion label Shinesty has you (kind of) covered with the "jeado", a denim-looking speedo that's sure to turn some heads.

Speedos have got some bad press over the years but Shinesty has now brought out their own take on this teeny tiny piece of swimwear.

Wherever you're going on holiday this year - be it the Costa Del Sol or just your local lido - the jeado is bound to turn some heads.

Its full name is "The Daytona Dong Sarong Jeado Swim Brief pants" and a pair costs $39.99 (£30). It comes in sizes S through to XXL , but the brand advise that they fit "tight", so size up if possible.

The jeados aren't actually denim, we're afraid - they're actually 88 per cent polyester and 12 per cent spandex with a 100 per cent polyester lining.

They're adorned with a hi-res denim design and come with a waistband and drawstring to keep anything you're storing in there perfectly safe.

Describing the head-turning swimwear, Shinesty said: "They say jorts are the above-ground pool of the shorts world. We'd be inclined to agree.

"Our denim print swim brief, also known as the Jeado, also known as the Daytona Dong Sarong is just like that, except it is the above-ground hot tub of the swim brief world...or something like that."

They add: "It is like eating a bag of chips in church. Everyone looks over at you with disgust, but deep down they want some too. And if you're really risky you'll combine those last 2 sentences, eating a bag of chips in church while wearing this denim swimsuit. You'll probably get tossed out, but you'll look and taste good doing it."

Now, from the tongue-in-cheek product description, it would seem like Shinesty are playing something of a prank on potential buyers.

Still, when you're going to look so good wearing it, who's laughing?
