Wedding guest slams bride and groom as ‘tacky’ as they split invitees into A and B-listers

Wedding guest slams bride and groom as ‘tacky’ as they split invitees into A and B-listers

Hey, you can't please everyone

A wedding guest has slammed the bride and groom for the 'tacky' way they treated a handful of their guests, and people are not happy about it.

Weddings are supposed to be a glorious occasion, celebrating the love two people have for each other, dancing the night away and wondering which one of your friends is next.

However, in actual fact, we all know that the lead up to the special day is nothing but stress, complaining and p*ssing a few people off with the choices you've made.

No matter how much planning and time goes into it, you will never be able to please everyone, as one bride is probably realising now one of her guests has shared some choice words about her wedding day choices.

Taking to Reddit, because where else can you go to air out your grievances, user mean_green_queen took to the r/weddingshaming subreddit to share her story.

"One of my friends who I was closer to before I moved is getting married in a different state and is choosing to have quite a small wedding.

"Totally cool, I’m not here to get mad at not being invited to the nuptials, having a close knit ceremony is everyone’s prerogative!

"However, a larger group of us got an invitation to watch a recording of the ceremony with the bride and groom on a zoom meeting a week later.

"In my mind, this is so tacky. Who wants to attend a zoom session and watch a ceremony that already happened with the rest of the B squad and not even get rewarded with a party after?

"I like her but imo, if you want a small wedding, that’s what you get."

Not where you thought this was going to go? No, me neither.

It turns out the guest took issue with having to watch the ceremony on Zoom with the rest of the 'B squad', who clearly weren't special enough to be invited to the actual ceremony. And, it wasn't even a livestream.

Other Redditors had a lot to say on the matter and the majority seem to agree with the poster.

One said: "If it was live, I could get behind it. But asking people to watch it together a week later - I'd just claim I'm busy at the scheduled time if I wanted to stay on nice terms and well if not, the person would get told how entitled and selfish they are to think anyone wants to sit through a video of their wedding a week after it happens."

Ouch.

Another shared their experience adding: "I was B-listed once (ten years ago) and I still haven’t forgotten about it, or looked at the bride the same way again, lol."

A third person echoed: "Yeah, no way in hell I'm giving a gift if I'm not invited to the party. The gift will be kept if it's something I like, returned, or given to someone else."

A final resolved: "This is classless."

Well, if nothing else, this is certainly a lesson in what not to do.
