Work dos are generally about enjoying your night with free food and free drinks, but it doesn’t always go to plan.
However, it wasn’t the booze which posed an issue in this instance - it was the food.
Who says free food tastes better, eh?

Apparently free company meals have the ability to give you an illness you’ll never forget, at least according to these employees.
After a French aerospace company treated their workers to a gourmet style Christmas dinner, no one was to know that it would leave hundreds ill with suspected food poisoning,
It was a banquet held by Airbus Atlantic, which led to their employees facing gruesome symptoms after dining on their celebratory meal.

According to reports by MetroUK, the ARS health agency even went on to say that the workers of the company had been unfortunate enough to be stricken with a case of vomiting and diarrhoea.
The incident happened in Western France 10 days ago at their company wide event, which descended into chaos and stomach pain.
Who fancies sitting on the toilet for hours in the run up to Christmas? Not me!

But with the menu options sounding so delicious, how were the employees to know they were at risk of food poisoning?
The dishes included scallops, lobster, the controversial delicacy foie gras, and decadent desserts such as chocolate mousse.
Even I would gladly sit at the table just to try some of these things.
However, one employee told the Quest-France newspaper that the illness was so bad, she had never experienced anything like it before and even went as far as to say that it was worse than childbirth.

After workers were struck down following the meal, an investigation was launched in a bid to get to the bottom of what may have contaminated the food.
As the aerospace company is one of the largest in the world, with 13,000 employees in five different countries, there were a reported 700 who ended up being affected by the food poisoning, according to the Mail Online.
However, Airbus has disputed this figure and claim that it is closer to 100 people who took ill.

They said in a statement to the MailOnline: “On Friday December 15, around 100 Airbus Atlantic employees were taken ill after contracting a food-borne illness after eating the company-organised Christmas lunch.
“This appears to be an isolated event and all employees are recovering well.
“The health of our employees remains our primary concern and we are fully cooperating with the ARS health agency to identify the cause of the illness and ensure this cannot happen again in the future.”
