Drake made a heart transplant patient's birthday when he paid her a visit in hospital, after seeing the young girl's now-viral video doing the Kiki challenge.

Sofia Sanchez was getting ready for her 11th Birthday Party at Lurie Children's Hospital when the rapper turned up at her bedside.

The youngster recorded her take on the viral In My Feelings challenge which has seen people jumping out of a (slowly) moving car and walking alongside to the lyrics "Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding?"

Sofia swapped the car for her hospital wheelchair and Drake saw it during his tour which was when he decided to go and visit Sofia while performing in Chicago.

Drake posted a video to Instagram of the visit, revealing that the pair chatted all things 'Bieber and Owls and Basketball'.

But the initial reaction was the best bit really. Sofia screamed 'Oh my God!' as he entered the room and Drake casually responded: "You asked me to come, I'm here".

The he asked: "You wanna give me a hug or what?" And, in a response that would mirror our very own, Sofia jumps off her hospital bed.

"I'm so happy I got to see you," he told his young fan, to which Sofia squealed: "I'm so happy you came."

The pair spent the rest of their time together taking selfies and Instagram videos. Drake also gave Sofia some of his merchandise and even sang hit song God's Plan.

Afterwards, he gifted Sofia with his autograph but, according to the MailOnline, made sure that he had her scribble first. What a guy.

The hospital said that the Canadian rapper was generous with his time and Sofia said meeting him was 'a miracle'.

Sofia was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a heart muscle condition that can make it hard for the heart to deliver blood to the body and potentially lead to heart failure.

A heart transplant is often needed to survive, and Sofia is currently on the waiting list.

Sofia underwent open heart surgery three weeks ago in order to connect a mechanical pump to help support her heart and blood flow.

The surgery often serves as a bridge to heart transplantation and is only performed four times a year at the Lurie Children's Hospital.

Sofia's cardiologist, Dr Bradley Marino, said: "Having this one special day where she doesn't have to be a sick patient and doesn't have to be a girl waiting for a heart, it's just a little girl who's a fan of a great artist, it's pretty special."

Here's to wishing Sofia and her family all the luck in the world.
