Bobby Brazier's dad Jeff cries on live TV as he supports his son during Strictly Come Dancing

Bobby Brazier's dad Jeff cries on live TV as he supports his son during Strictly Come Dancing

The dad was overcome with emotion after seeing his son step out on the dancefloor

EastEnders star Bobby Brazier made his debut performance on the first Strictly Come Dancing live show last night, September 23, and it all got a bit much for proud dad, Jeff Brazier.

Bobby, who is the son of the late Jade Goody and TV presenter Jeff, impressed the judges when he danced the Foxtrot to McFly's All About You with professional partner, Dianne Buswell.

During his performance he was supported by his dad, Jeff, who wept with pride from the studio audience.

This isn't the first time we've seen the former Shipwrecked star overcome with emotion when it comes to fatherly pride.

Earlier this month, Jeff made headlines when he broke down in tears while watching Bobby be presented with the Rising Star Award at the National Television Awards for his portrayal of Freddie Slater on Albert Square.

It's no surprise emotions were running high, after Bobby dedicated the award to his dad for all the support he's given over the years.

"This actually has very, very, very little to do with me and everything to do with my dad. Over the course of the last twenty years, I have consistently heard him say 'because I can,'" Bobby explained.

"It was a mantra or a moto of his, and him just saying that it's... Because I can!"

Speaking after the show, the 20-year-old added: "I feel so privileged and I feel like I'm a very little part of this award. I'm blessed. My dad cried, I think I'm going to cry when I see him. I just want to go and give him a hug now to be honest. I just want to go and hand this award to my dad, because all because of him."

Speaking to the Mirror, Jeff previously shared his support Bobby and his role on EastEnders, as well as landing a spot on the Strictly dance floor.

"I'm really proud of Bobby and the attitude he has had since he's been on EastEnders. He's wanted to absorb as much from all the incredibly experienced actors around him. He's made a really good start to his career, and I can see he's proud of himself, too. I can see every time I switch it on that he's got better," he said.

"Every time I watch it I can see he's better in the terms of the layers. I'm no acting expert, I can't say how good he is, but I'm really proud of my son. He's had an opportunity and he's taken it."

Despite only being one week in, Bobby is already one of the bookie's favourites to win this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
