Jade Goody’s mum opens up about grandson Bobby Brazier’s debut on Strictly Come Dancing

The family are very proud of the young lad

Jade Goody’s mum has opened up about her grandson Bobby Brazier’s debut on Strictly Come Dancing.

Bobby, 20, has joined the celeb-packed Strictly 2023 cast alongside the likes of Amanda Abbington, Zara McDermott, Les Dennis, and Angela Rippon

The show, which will make an exciting return to our screens next month, has left Jade's mum, Jackiey Budden, clearly full to the brim with pride.

Given just how much of a fan Jade, who passed away from cervical cancer back in 2009, was of the programme - it's no wonder why Jackiey is 'over the moon' that Bobby has signed himself up for it this year.

"I’m over the moon and he’s just stepped in his mum’s shoes - he’s in Jade’s trotters," the 64-year-old said.

She continued: "He’s been born to bring Jade back as himself, because he’s the spit of Jade - he’s got his daddy’s head. It will be like watching her on telly."

And Jackiey isn't the only family member overjoyed at Bobby's participation on the beloved British show.

Jade's widower, Jack Tweed, who was married to the Big Brother star a month before she passed, said she would be 'bursting with pride' for Bobby and 'and all he’s achieved'.

He added: "For someone so young, he has already achieved so much. Bobby has modelled for Dolce & Gabbana and all the top brands.

"Then he went on to get a job on EastEnders and now he’s appearing on Strictly."

What a resume.

Jack went on: "Seeing Bobby grow into such a nice young man has been a lovely thing to see."

"He is absolutely smashing it. Jade would be bursting with pride," he added to The Sun.

Bobby is the son of Jade and Jeff Brazier, and was born in 2003, while his mum married Jack Tweed in 2009, shortly before she died after receiving the cancer diagnosis.

He went on to say that his late wife was a huge fan of Strictly and would have loved the chance to be on it herself, suggesting that she might have won it if she'd ever had the chance.

Joining Bobby on the roster of this year's Strictly stars set to strut their stuff includes: Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon CBE, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon, Zara McDermott, Adam Thomas, Nikita Kanda, Ellie Leach, Jody Cundy CBE, Nigel Harman, Annabel Croft, and the iconic Les Dennis.
