Britney Spears fans shocked to discover that lyrics in two of her most famous songs are related

Britney Spears fans shocked to discover that lyrics in two of her most famous songs are related

While Taylor Swift might be known for her clever lyrics, pop princess Britney Spears has been hiding references for over two decades.

Taylor Swift might be known for hiding Easter eggs in her music nowadays, but there’s another pop princess who's been doing it for far longer.

OG diva Britney Spears has been doing it for decades and two of her most iconic tracks are actually linked.

Don’t feel bad though if this doesn’t sound familiar, as plenty of fans are just learning this after watching a viral TikTok video. See for yourselves:

It took fellow singer and West End star Stevie Webb to explain the connection in a now-viral video about Spears.

The actor explained the connection between 2000’s ‘Stronger ‘and 1998’s ‘Baby One More Time’, with the latter track actually being a response to the other iconic tune.

If you don’t believe us, just read the chorus of ‘Stronger’ for yourself:

“Stronger than yesterday / Now it's nothing but my way / My loneliness ain't killing me no more”

Compare this with her earlier hit, ‘Baby one more time’, with the lyrics of course being:

“My loneliness is killing me (and I) / I must confess I still believe (still believe) / When I'm not with you I lose my mind….Give me a sign / Hit me, baby, one more time”.

Did you know Britney Spears' 'Stronger' and 'Baby One More Time' are related?

As Webb explained in his TikTok video, the throwback to the 1998 hit shows just how much the pop princess had changed over the years.

“It’s a response, it’s showing growth and strength,” explained the actor, adding that he was shocked to learn that his friends were unaware of this iconic reference.

However, it seems that tons of other fans didn’t have this reference on their ‘Radar’.

In fact, the video has gone viral for this reason with over 18,600 users watching Webb explain the clever musical reference.

Fans are baffled to learn of the two tracks' relation.

One even wrote: “Can’t believe I never clocked this” and another added: “I didn’t clock it either!! Mind blown”

Meanwhile, others had only just become aware of the link between the two Britney tracks – which is pretty crazy considering both songs are over two decades old.

“I only learned this a couple years ago on tiktok as a millennial who grew up with Britney,” a third commented, with a fourth replying: “I legit found this out last year and my mind was blown!!”

Even Jedward (yes, really) got involved with the high note education, calling the ‘Break the Ice’ singer a ‘genius’.

If only we picked up on these references everytime.
