People shocked over Coachella's 'criminal' prices after woman spends £50 for 'two burritos and cucumber water'

People shocked over Coachella's 'criminal' prices after woman spends £50 for 'two burritos and cucumber water'

You get no bang for your buck at your Coachella

Now, anyone who has ever been to a festival before will know that food and drink tends to be a tad pricier onsite than in the real world.

But it's clear that you'll definitely be having to splash the cashola a whole lot more at certain festivals - including the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which takes places in the Californian desert every year.

Some attendees have since given outsiders a glimpse inside the festival leaving people beyond shocked over the 'criminal' prices after woman spent over £50 on 'two burritos and cucumber water'.

Tickets alone set music-lovers back a staggering $499 to $599 (not including fees) and it seems that, despite all the backlash Coachella faced last year for its skyrocketed prices for a bit of grub, the prices have pretty much remained the same.

One festival-goer Jackie Tanti took to TikTok last summer to share just how much bang she got for her buck during the festival's first weekender.

She showed viewers a mini haul of her festival picnic consisting of only four items.

"Just so you all know, the two coffees and these two burritos cost us $64. Capitalism really popped off today," Jackie said.

While admitting that the food was 'actually pretty good,' it's clear it was no way near worth over 60 dollars.

Jackie captioned the short clip: "The sh*ttiest part of Coachella."

But, it seems the steep prices haven't deterred Jackie from rocking up to the festival yet again.

Over the weekend, she took to TikTok once more to share the 2024 price rundown of a pretty similar order to last year's.

She opted for the two burritos but, instead of a couple of coffees, Jackie went for a slightly healthier fresh juice.

"It's weekend one of Coachella and I just spent $64 (about £51) on this really good juice and two breakfast burritos," she told viewers, while showing her costly haul of just three items - and a couple pots of some very sad-looking dipping sauce.

Jackie ended the short clip admitting: "Capitalism is crazy and I am a part of the problem."

People have since rushed in to share their reactions to the price rundown with one TikTok user branding it completely 'insane'.

Another reckoned what they were charging for just three standard items was 'f*ckin wild', while a third straight-up called it 'criminal'.

A fourth admitted: "$64?! I’m so screwed!"

"I could’ve just made you those burritos," pointed out a fifth.

"Sounds about right!" penned another, while a final, more positive TikTok user, added: "At least the juice is really good!"
