In amazing news for Peaky Blinders fans, Stephen Graham just confirmed rumours he'll be donning a three-piece suit for a role in series 6.
The This Is England actor, who most recently starred in Netflix's The Irishman, revealed he was on board for the next instalment of the Birmingham-based gangster drama before production was cut short due to coronavirus.

"I was supposed to be starting Peaky Blinders but that has been put on hold indefinitely," he told The Sun.
"My agent spent a lot of time putting that together."

The actor, 46, confirmed talks he was getting a role in the BBC drama, after creator Steven Knight revealed he was "proceeding" with bagging Graham ahead of series 5, which aired in September 2019.

Speaking on podcast Obsessed With... Peaky Blinders by Digital Spy Editor Laurence Mozafari back in July, Steven opened up about the actors he wants to see in his show.
"Stephen Graham," he said. "Don't worry... we're proceeding with that, but not for this series. Not Al Capone - I didn't want to go west. Because it's a minefield once you go into Chicago gangsters. I refer to him last series, but I didn't want to go into that."
It was heavily hinted at the end of series 4 that Thomas Shelby and his family would come face to face with infamous 1920s gangster Al Capone at some point in the show.

Graham, who recently appeared in BBC's Line of Duty and Channel 4's The Virtues, has long been a fan request to join the show. Having famously depicted the gangster in HBO series Boardwalk Empire, rumours were rife he would resume the character for Peaky.
When asked what role he wants Graham to appear in, Steven said: "I've already got it and I'm not going to tell you [laughs]!"
There's no news as yet of which role Graham will be appearing in, but we do know that series 6 will continue to follow Tommy into the 30s in a time of increasing political unrest.

Could Graham come in as an ally against Oswald Moseley, the fascist MP Tommy battled against in series 5? For now, we can only speculate.
The sixth series of Peaky Blinders was expected to air in 2021, but we can expect delays after production was halted due to COVID-19 lockdown measures.
The gangster drama confirmed that filming had stopped in March. A post on the show's official Instagram read: "After much consideration, and in light of the developing situation concerning Covid-19, the start of production of Peaky Blinders series 6 has been postponed.

It might be a while off until we get Peaky back on our screens, but with the excitement of having Stephen on board, we're prepared to wait.
