New Sky Drama 'Gangs of London' Is The New 'Peaky Blinders'

Peaky Blinders fans, we have some big news. A new crime drama is coming to Sky and it even stars Joe Cole (who plays John Boy in the popular gangster drama).

The nine-part series will launch on Sky Atlantic and Now TV later this year and is an action-packed thriller based in London's criminal underworld.

Dubbed the "modern day Peaky Blinders" if you're a fan of an action-packed criminal thriller like Top Boy, this one is certainly for you.

The plot sounds seriously gripping and directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid), Corin Hardy and Xavier Gens - we know we're in good hands with this one.

After the murder of Finn Wallace (played by Colm Meaney) - who is the head of a major crime gang - the peace between several organisations in the city is disturbed.

Finn was one of the most notorious criminals in London for over two decades. It's up to Sean Wallace (Joe Cole) to maintain control of the situation, but with a volatile and impulsive nature, as well as his desire for power, could spell trouble.

Sean becomes set on finding those who killed his father and enlists the help of the Dumani family.

Also starring is Sope Dirisu (Humans), Colm Meaney (Star Trek, Hell on Wheels, Layer Cake) and Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, Suits).

While a release date has not yet been confirmed, it's expected to launch at some point this year.

If you can't wait - fear not. There's *plenty* of telly to get stuck into beforehand, including a new Charles Manson documentary airing on Quest Red.

And if you loved Abducted in Plain Sight - which was released on Netflix last year - you'll be pleased to know there's a podcast spin-off on the way.

The true-crime podcast will drop next month and is set to delve deeper into the kidnappings with never-before-seen audio and a host of new interviews.

As a recap, the original documentary told the story of Jan Broberg, from Idaho, who was kidnapped twice by her neighbour Robert Berchtold, who gained the trust of Jan's parents over a period of years.

The podcast is set to feature exclusive interviews with Jan as well as Berchtold's audio journals, which were uncovered by the FBI.

We're certainly being treated to *lots* of great dramas this year...
