We're counting down the days until the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, and the BBC has just dropped a full-length trailer to get us even more excited.

You can watch it here:

Showrunner James Corden dropped the minute-long clip on his Twitter last night, as well as revealing the episode will be on at 8.30pm on Christmas Day.

The trailer starts with Smithy (played by Corden) arriving at Gavin's house (Matthew Horne), where he launches into 'Step Into Christmas' in true Smithy style. Mick (Larry Lamb) and Pam (Alison Steadman) join in an have a little dance along.

The clip treats fans with some classic catchphrases from the show - Ness (Ruth Jones) asks "what's occurrin'?" in a pub scene and Pam shouts "what a palaver!" around the Christmas table - while it's jam-packed with al the stuff we love about the sitcom, from Uncle Bryn's getting majorly stressed to some jolly pub scenes with the fam.

The extended teaser follows the first look trailer release last week which showed a stressed kitchen scene lead by Bryn. The 30-second clip sees Stacey's uncle having a meltdown while cooking for the family on Christmas Day.

At the same time, the BBC also dropped the first official photo from the reboot, which shows all the main cast hanging out in a pub.

We see Gavin (Matthew Horne), Stacey (Joanna Page), Ness (Ruth Jones), Smithy (James Corden), Bryn (Rob Brydon), Gwen (Melanie Walters), Mick (Larry Lamb), Pam (Alison Steadman) and Jason West (Robert Wilfort).

In May, James Corden confirmed the hit British sitcom - which ran for three seasons between 2007 and 2010 - was returning for a one-off festive special, and excitement ensued.

While Gavin and Stacey is only planned to return for a one-off, writer Ruth Jones has hinted there might be more.

Speaking to Red Magazine, she said: "Ever since it finished in 2010, we've always said 'Do you think we'll do another one?', she revealed to the mag. 'Sometimes we would just text each other and go, 'I have a really good idea for Bryn.'"

She continued: "We will never again have the effect that we've had this time around, having said for 10 years that we're not doing any more and the announcing something special.

"I think it would be churlish of me to say there won't be any more. The honest truth is there are no plans, but I don't think I could ever say never."
