RuPaul's Drag Race contestant Gia Gunn has revealed that she confronted RuPaul over comments on transgender people in scenes which were not aired on the popular talent show.
RuPaul previously came under fire over controversial comments, in which he said he "probably wouldn't" accept trans women onto the show, likening trans people taking hormones to athletes taking steroids.

He later apologised for his comments, and said: "In the 10 years we've been casting Drag Race, the only thing we've ever screened for is charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. And that will never change."
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 4 contestant Gia spoke to iconic queens Alaska and Willam on the podcast Race Chaser about RuPaul's comments, saying that she was 'disappointed' that the confrontation wasn't aired.
She said: "Now being off the show, I realise that I really went on there for one reason only, which was to bring not only trans visibility to the show but also to open doors for other types of drag queens to come through and hopefully be seen on television screens.

"Whether it's on Drag Race or another platform that welcomes all walks of life and all types of drag.
"I did [confront RuPaul], but of course it wasn't aired, which was a little disappointing, but I very well knew none of that was going to air because the show is not about making her look anything but great and bring positivity to the show."
"I really had a hard time on the show simply because I did exchange words with her.

"I felt completely disregarded, I didn't feel acknowledged, I didn't feel wanted, to be there in the competition. And truthfully, it really hurt my feelings and I had a really big breakdown in between sets.
"I was just like, 'If I'm getting this feeling from her and I don't feel very welcome, what the f*ck am I doing here?'"
