You can never have too much High School Musical, and luckily for fans of the Disney Channel movie franchise, two of the film's biggest stars are reuniting for a new film.

Corbin Bleu, who played basketball player and Troy Bolton's best friend Chad Danforth, and Monique Coleman aka Taylor McKessie, Chad's love interested and captain of the school's scholastic decathlon team, are playing love interests once again.

A Christmas Dance Reunion is coming later this year to Lifetime (
Lifetime)

The duo will star in the Lifetime Christmas movie A Christmas Dance Reunion, and it sounds like Christmas really has come early for High School Musical fans, because dancing is a major part of the film's plot.

A Christmas Dance Reunion is exactly what it says on the tin. Monique will play Lucy Mortimer, a successful attorney who returns with her mum to their old Christmas getaway - the Winterleigh Resort - which is on the brink of closing down for good.

Much to her surprise, Lucy is reunited with her childhood Christmas dance partner Barrett Brewster (Corbin Bleu) and the pair give the resort a new lease of life as the passion between them heats up.

This sounds so adorable.

Corbin and Monique both posted the movie's poster on their Instagram accounts and teased fans about their upcoming reunion (

Monique posted an animated movie poster for the film on her Instagram and said she was "so excited" to join the film and star alongside Corbin. She wrote: "This has been the hardest secret to keep!!! Starring in a Lifetime Christmas Movie has always been a dream of mine, but never in a million years did I think I'd get to share the screen with one of my favourite people!!!"

Corbin also promoted the movie on his Instagram account, writing: "You are going to love this!!!"

In related High School Musical news, the second season of the TV spin-off High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiered earlier this month on Disney+.

The first series, released in 2019, was a tongue-in-cheek look at how East High School, the original school from the High School Musical films, was putting on their very own musical version of High School Musical.

Season two sees Nini (Olivia Rodrigo) and Ricky (Joshua Bassett) enjoying their very fitting high school romance after the pair exchanged 'I love you' in the season one finale. However, the teenage dream quickly ends after Nini reveals she's leaving East High to go to a prestigious acting school in a different state.

Maybe we'll get A Christmas Dance Reunion: The Musical: The Series one day. Until then, fans will have to stay tuned for when Lifetime announces the premiere date for their new Christmas flick.
