The new year has heralded a new thirst trap for 2021; Bridgerton's Duke of Hastings has pulses racing with his infamous spoon - which we claim is the new version of Connell's chain.

The dashing duke, played by Regé-Jean Page, is everyone's brand new crush after the racy Regency drama dropped on Netflix over Christmas.

And while Bridgerton isn't short of raunchy moments, lashings of sex and just a dash of drama, there's one particular scene that's left fans of the series particularly hot under the collar.

In episode three of Bridgerton, the Duke and his faux-beau Daphne Bridgerton (played by Phoebe Dyvenor) are out for high-tea - with Daphne becoming particularly flustered as she watches the Duke lick his spoon clean.

The moment has been burned into many of our minds, and now the spoon in the iconic scene has taken on a life of its own, after one fan created an Instagram account especially for the blessed piece of cutlery.

Having already amassed over 6,700 followers on the photo-sharing platform, @thedukesspoon has reshared the spoon-licking moment, as well as several other lip-smackingly sexy snaps of the Duke of Hastings.

It's like Connell's chain from Normal People all over again - with the famous slim silver chain worn by star Paul Mescal also garnering its own Instagram page last year. The spoon still has quite some way until it reaches chain status, as the piece of jewellery has well over 178,000 followers.

Fans have previously filthily opted to swap places with the delicate teaspoon, with many taking to Twitter to drool over the moment in question.

One person wrote: "That spoon will be talked about for a very long time. And it will be in many dreams/fantasies as well"

Two people began to fantasise what it would be like to be the spoon. One user said: "To be that spoon... " alongside a GIF of Blanche from The Golden Girls spritzing herself with water.

The other added: "Oh to be that spoon." We're sure many people can relate.

Bridgerton has certainly given a whole new meaning to spooning, that's for sure.
