James Corden bursts into tears during final episode of Late Late Show

James Corden bursts into tears during final episode of Late Late Show

It was the end of an era for Corden.

James Corden has broken down in the final moments of The Late Late Show.

After holding the chat show position for eight years, the curtain is finally coming to a close for the British star.

All good things must come to an end and Corden has elected to relocate home, across the pond, to where it all began.

And what a bumper show it was.

Adele might be used to saying 'Hello', but the British singer helped Corden say a final goodbye to his chat show with the final Carpool Karaoke.

While sitting alongside the 'Easy on Me' singer, the talk show host became incredibly emotional as he spoke about the last nine seasons with the singer.

It didn't take too long for Adele's sad songs to really hit home as she admitted that 'I Drink Wine' was inspired by Corden.

Cue the 'awws' and 'oohs'.

And, as the duo prepared to belt out the song together, the Grammy Award winner revealed that the song's first verse had stemmed from a six-hour conversation the pair had as they returned from holiday.

"This song is very special to both of us," she admitted, saying that the talk show host used humour to help his friend cope in the wake of her heart-breaking divorce.

"You, Jules and the kids were so integral in looking after me."

The dynamic duo also revealed they will be sad to live on opposite sides of the Atlantic to each other after so many years in California together.

Reflecting on their friendship and the end of The Late Late Show, the teary talk-show host said: "I think I underestimated how many friends I'd made doing it [the show] and it's like a family."

In the last episode, Will Ferrell and Harry Styles also left their mark on Corden's set of the The Late Late Show, choosing to smash up the TV set with whatever they could get their hands on during the final episode.
