Friends Fans Are Losing It Over Netflix's Savage Subtitles For Janice

Friends Fans Are Losing It Over Netflix's Savage Subtitles For Janice

These are the most accurate subtitles ever!

Friends wouldn't be the same with Janice.

Chandler's long-time on-off girlfriend left her mark on viewers thanks to her infamous nasally voice and laugh.

Now, Netflix viewers have uncovered another layer to Janice's character, thanks to the streaming services somewhat shady - but entirely accurate - subtitles.

An Instagram account dedicated to the most hilarious Friends memes shared screenshots from several of Janice's guest appearances on the show and the subtitles from each time she laughed or giggled.

The scenes are made even more hilarious thanks to the descriptions. Most of the screenshots posted by @friendsmemesonly reference Janice's "braying laughter" or "braying chuckle" as well as her “machine-gun-fire-like laughter” and of course “laughing nasally”.

We can literally hear these pictures.

Friends fans took to the comments to joke about the subtitles and Janice's cackle. “Machine-gun-fire-like laughter is my favourite,” said one Instagram commenter.

Another person wrote: “Janice’s laughter is so so funny.”

While a third woman said: “I do the Janice laugh to irritate my hubby. Lol.”

"So basically a braying machine gun," added another Friends fan.

Janice was portrayed by actress Maggie Wheeler and earlier this year fans discovered that Maggie also made an appearance in The Parent Trap.

In The Parent Trap, Maggie played a camp counsellor, and she actually features quite a few times, including when Hallie sets up a series of traps in Annie's cabin.

As fans will remember, camp director Marva (played by Polly Holliday) announces she's doing a surprise inspection of the girls' cabins along with her daughter - also named Marva (and played by Maggie).

Despite Hallie's best efforts, both counsellors get caught up in the prank, and end up covered in oil and feathers.

As a result, Hallie and Annie end up in the isolation cabin.

The Parent Trap, which starred a young Lindsay Lohan as a twins, was released in 1998. Turns out Maggie actually played Marva Jr around the same time she was playing Chandler's iconic love interest in Friends - which ran from 1994 to 2006.
