'Girl math' has become one of the most relatable social media trends of age, as women all over the world use this means of logic to justify certain purchases.
For those unfamiliar with this gloriously unique concept, 'girl math' is essentially mental gymnastics for women, who use questionable reasoning to explain why they should buy something they're tempted to, or how they can make 'extra' money by returning it.
One example of 'girl math' is justifying the cost of a potentially over-priced item by dividing that by how many times you'll likely wear it.

My that logic, if a woman buys a £100 jumper, but knows she'll wear it at least 20 times, the new price of that item is only £5 - bargain!
Similarly, 'girl math' says that if a food bill totals £65 but you have a £50 voucher for that particular restaurant, you're only actually paying £15 for that dinner.
My personal favourite and one element of 'girl math' that I firmly believe in is, if you pay for anything in cash, by logic, it's free. Winning!
And this week, one woman has opened up about about a nifty form of 'girl math' that she claims has saved her hundreds upon hundreds of pounds when booking her holiday.

The TikTok star - who goes by the username @leila.phoebee on the video-sharing app - advised her followers to 'book your girls holiday now so that it's free when you go in summer'.
She shared a dazzling array of clips from her trip, which sees her and her gal pals partying it up, reclining on a boat and dancing on the beach in Hvar, Croatia.
And the genius handy hack has seemingly resonated with many social media users, with one even dubbing the trick as '1000% the best girl math I’ve found yet', to which Leila responded, "We love a free holiday!"
Another teased in the comments: "omw [on my way] to tell my besties."

"Love a freebie," joked a third, before a fourth tagged their pals, writing, "we need to get on it guys."
Despite the life-changing revelation, Leila's advice comes just weeks after another woman claimed the viral trend of 'girl math' trend is actually harmful to those who abide by its controversial rules.
Data Analyst, Jess Ramos, took to TikTok to share her views on the matter.

She began by stating: "Let me tell you why the new girl math trend is actually harmful. Well, first of all, it perpetuates negative stereotypes about girls doing math by making it a joke or a mockery and making it look like girls are bad at math."
While admitting that she does 'laugh at some of the girl math stuff and totally relates to it', Jess noted that the 'harmful' part of the tongue-in-cheek trend is using the word 'girl' as a 'proxy for bad math or silly math or illogical math'.
"And we're just making a mockery of girls doing math and that is not okay with me," she went on.
The expert continued: "I actually have a degree in math. I studied math for four years and academia and the math world is actually really toxic, especially for women.

"I never wanted to dress too feminine or wear makeup because if I did, I wasn't taken as seriously and because I went through those experiences personally, I will not be participating in the girl math trend and I hope you reject it with me."
