A seriously ‘sexy’ vampire series with 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes finally lands on TV today, having already taken the US by storm.

With Halloween just around the corner, we’re all in the mood for something sufficiently spooky to fill our nights with – and if there’s a bit of sauciness along the way to merry us along, who are we to say no?

That winning combination has already won over viewers across the pond with a TV adaptation of a classic 1970s novel, and now it’s our turn to get in on the action.
Based on the book by Anne Rice - which was adapted into a 1994 film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt - Interview with the Vampire is a seven-part series that starts tonight on BBC 2.
Billed as a ‘sumptuous reinvention’ of Rice’s ‘epic tale of seduction, blood and immortality’, the drama has already gained a racy reputation after airing over in the States.
The story begins in 1910, with Louis de Pointe du Lac living in New Orleans as executor-in-charge of his family’s fortune – later zooming forward to 2020 as he retells the story of how he met a vampire called Lestat to journalist Daniel Molloy.

Announcing its UK release, Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition, said earlier this year: “Interview with the Vampire is a sumptuous, sensual, complex and disturbing treat.
“Anchored by the charismatic lead performances of Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid, the series stays true to the gothic spirit of Anne Rice’s eternally popular novels, whilst sympathetically re-imagining her world for a new generation.”
And it seems she’s not just bigging it up without cause either, as the series has not only earnt itself an incredible 99 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s also already been picked up for a second instalment.
The Daily Beast’s review described Interview with the Vampire as ‘badass, gross, and so sexy’, while Collider’s Carly Lane said it was a ‘sexy, layered adaptation tailor-made for TV’.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Daniel Fienberg also wrote: “Any time you think Interview with the Vampire is on the verge of becoming too chilly — and a strict Rice adaptation should feel like a simmering dip in the bayou — you get a burst of over-the-top gore or floating, butt-bared sexuality extreme enough to evoke giggles that are probably intentional (but might not always be).”
Oh, and if all that didn’t sound enough to draw you in, the first episode alone features two people having sex mid-air... as you do.
