For many people, the name Renee Zellweger is synonymous with Bridget Jones' Diary.
Her portrayal of Bridget is an iconic performance that many of us grew up with, looking to her at a big sister figure.
Yet, despite being the queen of the rom-com genre, Renee has stepped out of it a few times, and fans are rediscovering more of her filmography, thanks to Netflix.

It may come as a surprise to some that Renee's big break came after starring in terrifying horror The Return of Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 1995.

Returning to her horror roots, Renee starred in another horror flick back in 2009 that audiences loved.
Film critic Peter Bradshaw hailed it as 'undeniably entertaining' - and gave it four out of five stars in his review.
The film is called Case 39, and Renee stars alongside fellow Hollywood a-lister, Bradley Cooper.
The plot is suitably gruesome.
Renee portrays Emily Jenkins, a social worker who has to try and save a young girl named Lilith, played by Jodelle Ferland, from being murdered by her parents.

The terrible parents in question attempted to put Lilith in an oven and roast her alive, and were then sent to a mental asylum.
Lilith asks to stay with social worker Emily rather than be sent to a foster home, and Emily agrees to let this happen until a suitable foster family arise.
When Lilith moves into Emily's home, she finds out the hard way that her life is now one of extreme danger, and there's much more to Emily than meets the eye.
Horror films are notoriously panned by critics, and at the time of release, Case 39 didn't impress many - and because of this it received a low score of 21% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite this, audiences were impressed and continue to be today.

With the film streaming on Netflix, albeit only for another 24 hours - people have flooded social media urging people to watch it.
One user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Case 39 was a realllly good thriller/horror film. Like it was actually scary.
"Early 2000s films were really eating, what happened."
Another said: "I don’t see nearly enough people talking about Case 39 (2009). Highly underrated and worth a watch. Renée Zellweger is a scream queen through and through."
