Nicole Richie's children make red carpet debut and daughter looks identical to reality star mum

Now, it's not uncommon for kids to look extremely similar to their parents but some really take the 'apple doesn't fall far from the tree' idea to a whole new level.

And that's exactly the case for Nicole Richie and her two kids after the family made their red carpet debut on Tuesday (2 April) her teenage daughter who looks identical to her reality star mum.

Nicole, who has been married to Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden since 2010, rocked up to the premiere of Richie's film Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead alongside their two kids, Harlow, 16, and Sparrow, 14.

The two teens were a spitting image of their mum and dad.

Richie could be seen in an all-black velvet mini halter dress with matching black heels, gold jewellery and a killer smoky eye while daughter Harlow donned a black bandeau top and leather-look pants with her hair straight and down.

Meanwhile, Madden wore a black pair of trainers, trousers, t-shirt and bomber jacket alongside a - you guessed it - black cap with a red logo.

His son, Sparrow, hopped on the monotone colour palette and wore a similar baggy look with dark wash jeans and a black polo neck.

The Simple Life star was also joined by her famous dad, Lionel Richie, along with his girlfriend Lisa Parigi as well as Nicole's mum, Brenda Harvey-Richie.

The film in question is a remake to the first Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead which hit our screens back in 1991.

In the upcoming movie, Richie plays executive Rose Lindsey - taking over the role initially played by Joanna Cassidy.

The comedy, which is written by Ted Lasso's Chuck Hayward and directed by Wade Allain-Marcus, also stars Simone Joy Jones, whose role was previously taken on by Christina Applegate.

Coming this spring, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead will also see the likes of June Squibb, comic Ms. Pat, Olympian Gus Kenworthy, as well as newcomers Donielle Tremaine Hansley, Miles Fowler, Iantha Richardson and Tyriq Withers take to the screen.

The plot follows 17-year-old girl Tanya (Jones), who makes plans to jet off to Europe with her pals before heading to college in the autumn.

However, her mum (Ms. Pat) decides to go to a wellness retreat in Thailand, so Tanya is forced to stay home with her siblings.

However, just like the title promises, their elderly babysitter (Squibb) unexpectedly dies.

Following the death, Tayna later gets a job working for a woman named Rose (Ritchie) and, while attempting to balance her work, home life and a pretty tricky relationship, the teen does her best to navigate adulthood at the cost of her last summer before college.
