Ten years on and very little is known about Michael Schumacher’s current condition after his skiing accident.
For a decade, the F1 legend’s wife Corinna Schumacher has kept prying eyes away from her husband and reportedly grants only family members and a few close friends any kind of access.
After suffering head trauma at Méribel ski resort in 2013, Michael, 54, was placed in a medically induced coma and spent a period in a French hospital before later being allowed to return to his home in Switzerland.

It’s said following her husband’s accident, Corinna, 54, converted their Gland mansion into a hospital and that he now has around-the-clock care from doctors and physiotherapists.
In a rare interview, the champion equestrian opened up about the Formula One star’s health and claimed: “He is in the best of hands right now and we are doing everything we can to help him.
“Try to understand that we follow Michael’s desire to keep his health a secret.”

Speaking about his condition in a 2021 Netflix documentary, she explained: “Michael is here. Different, but he’s here, and that gives us strength, I find.
“We’re together. We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he’s comfortable. And to simply make him feel our family, our bond.”
She added that ‘no matter what’ she will do ‘everything’ to ‘carry on as a family’.
“We are getting on with our lives,” Corinna added.

Interestingly, Jean Todt, ex-F1 chief and former Ferrari boss, is one of the only people outside of the family to ever spend time with the German.
Speaking to Bild in 2021, he also claimed that Michael was in the ‘best hands’ and that he was ‘happy’ that fans think of him so much.
Jean, 77, told the publication: “People ask so much about Michael. The fans should know that he is in the best of hands.
“In the best situation, he can be and surrounded by people who love him."

Last year, Todt joined Corinna and her daughter, Gina-Marie, to receive the State Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia in Cologne on behalf of the ex-racing driver.
While Jean has had the pleasure of visiting the sporting icon, family friend Eddie Jordan claimed that the mum-of-two previously banned him from visiting.
Speaking to OLBG earlier this year, he claimed: “This was the most horrific situation for [Schumacher’s son] Mick and Corinna.

“It’s been nearly 10 years now and Corinna has not been able to go to a party, to lunch or this or that, she’s like a prisoner because everyone would want to talk to her about Michael when she doesn’t need reminding of it every minute.”
He added that he thought the equestrian was a ‘lovely girl’ and that he made an ‘effort’ to see his friend in the ‘early days’.
He said: “Corinna refused, and rightfully so because too many people wanted to go see him.”
Michael is considered to be one of the most successful F1 racing drivers in history.
During his active years - from 1991 to 2006, and again from 2010 to 2012 - he won seven Championships, placed on the podium 155 times and won 91 races.
He and Corrine tied the knot in 1995 and share Gina-Marie, 26, and son Mick, 24.
The latter has followed in his father’s footsteps and is currently a reserve driver for the Mercedes AMG Formula One Team.
