Gogglebox Fans 'Traumatised' By Friday's 'Disturbing' Episode

"People end up in prison for that sh*t".

Gogglebox fans are used to viewing shocking scenes from provocative TV shows – we’re looking at you, Naked Attraction.

However, nothing could have prepared people for the horrifying scenes involving a rather amorous duck.

Watch the clip below:

During Friday night’s episode last week, the armchair critics were tasked with watching X-rated scenes from the Apple TV anthology series Roar.

Each episode, described in the official description as ‘feminist fables’, is based on a different short story originally penned by Cecelia Ahern.

The families watched “The Woman Who Was Fed By a Duck” staring Merritt Wever, which follows the story of a lonely woman who befriends a duck in a park.

She takes him home for a bath before both species engage in an act of cunnilingus.

The explicit detail in the scene as well as themes of bestiality sent shockwaves on social media and as of Monday (25th April) fans of the Channel 4 series are still reeling.

One viewer tweeted their confusion immediately after the controversial scenes were broadcast. “Just watching #Gogglebox the end bit I’m not sure this is allowed is it? People end up in prison for that sh*t.”

Viewers complained about the sex scene on Twitter. (

Another disgusted fan shared: “That show Roar. Is disgusting! Just seen a clip of a talking duck having oral sex with a woman on #gogglebox and I’m legit traumatised #roar WHO the hell came up with that show, and WHO approved it! Yuck.”

One woman suggested if the sexes of both characters were switched, it would never have made it onto the air. “#Gogglebox #Channel4 I’m not easily offended but last night's ‘duck thing’ was the most desperate attempt to shock. If a man was penetrating an animal, it would never make TV. VERY bad taste.”

One tweet from Sunday morning said: ‘Still thinking about that dreadful duck thing on #Gogglebox Friday night”.

While another uncomfortable viewer added: “Just caught up with #Gogglebox & feel violated. Wtf was that duck shit about?? Who writes that stuff? People actually thought that would make a good programme? People scare the sh*t out of me sometimes.”

Gogglebox airs at 9pm on Fridays on Channel 4.
