Just when we thought we'd seen Colin the Caterpillar transformed into just about every sweet treat imaginable, one chippy has upped the ante, creating a deep fried, battered version of everybody's favourite birthday cake.
Yep, we've seen Colin the Caterpillar cookies, faces and Easter Eggs, but now the tasty Marks and Spencer character has been given a quintessentially British upgrade.
Introducing the deep fried mini Colin the Caterpillar from Papa's Fish and Chip shop.
The chain has branches in Hull, Cleethorpes, Whitby and Scarborough - each of which is offering the fried Swiss roll dessert for customers to try.

Available for one day only (and that's today, folks) the Colins are essentially dipped in donut batter and fried, meaning they taste just warm, sweet and delightfully greasy.
The fish and chip shop invented the treat amid Marks & Spencer's ongoing legal battle with Aldi.
The supermarkets are currently in the middle of a legal row after M&S claimed Aldi's Cuthbert the Caterpillar cake was "riding on the coat-tails" of Colin's reputation, and shared too much of a likeness to its product.

Posting on Twitter, Papa's said: "Sorry @MarksandSpencer we're backing @AldiUK on this one. #SnitchersGetBattered so we're battering Colin the Caterpillar in our delicious sweet batter Mon 26th - and all profits go to @teencancertrust."
The deep-fried Colin cakes will be sold at £1.49 each, and all the money will be given to charity.
The chippy's owner, Dino, told the Grimsby Telegraph: 'It's all a bit of fun and a great way to raise money for charity.

"Like the rest of the nation, we have been gripped by the Colin and Cuthbert saga and we've chosen which side we are backing.
"The battered caterpillars are also absolutely delicious, so we thought why not?
"We are buying as many mini Colins as we can and they will be battered in our sweet batter and available in all restaurants on Monday".
If you're local to a Papa's chippy, you'd better get down there ASAP!
