All of a sudden we're monstrously hungry.

With Halloween around the corner, we're busy stock-piling spooky sweet treats for the occasion - and McVitie's new Halloween cake range is making us monstrously hungry.

Dubbed 'A Dead Good Night In', the Halloween range will be available at various British grocery retailers - including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons - as well as discounters, with all items costing £1.

First up there's the McVitie's Jaffa Cakes Zesty Orangey Cake Bars (£1), which combine a zesty orange filling and light purple sponge, all smothered in dark chocolate. Yum!

Available in packs of five individually-wrapped bars, McVitie's Jaffa Cakes Zesty Orangey Cake Bars are great value for money and would make a ghoulish lunchbox treat for little ones over Halloween.

The same goes for McVitie's Jaffa Cakes Fruity Blackcurrant Cake Bars (also available in packs of five individually-wrapped bars for £1)

With their blackcurrant flavour bars, the brand has paired light sponge with a fruity blackcurrant filling, encased in a dark chocolate coating.

We'll also be aiming to get our trick-or-treater mitts on some of McVitie's Funny Bones Chocolate Cakes Bars.

With fluffy sponge, chocolate cream and smooth milk chocolate, the bars are available in packs of eight for £1.

Elsewhere in the range are five-packs of McVitie's Digestives Cinder Toffee Flavour Slices, a delicious golden-baked biscuit slice with the flavour of cinder toffee, topped with McVitie's' chocolate.

And it's not just individual bars and biscuity slices, either. There's a cake, too!

McVitie's Funny Bones Sticky Toffee Flavour Cake (£1) is a play on the fan-favourite British dessert - and is perfect served with a dollop of custard.

Talking about the range, Head of Marketing at leading snacking company Pladis Claire Hooper said: "This year the seasonal sales opportunity for cakes is bigger than ever.

"Halloween celebrations are likely to take a different form, with many shoppers swapping parties and trick or treating for watching scary movies or hosting smaller gatherings at home.

"Cakes are perfectly suited to these at-home occasions, so this presents a unique opportunity for retailers to boost sales in the cake category - and give shoppers a festive reason to celebrate."

No tricks here, just treats.
