PSA: M&S just launched a WHOLE fried chicken - and it's a crispy-southern-spiced dream.

For anyone experiencing cravings for crispy crumbed chicken in lockdown (yep, same) this is major foodie news.

Already dribbling in anticipation? Allow us to talk you through the delicious flavourings.

The succulent whole-fry chicken has been slathered in a golden, spice-laced crumb coating of pepper, garlic, paprika, chilli and onion.

Mmmm.

It's also been spatchcocked, meaning it's super easy to serve and eat.

All that you need to do is pop it in the oven - expect the house to smell heavenly! - and serve it with a selection of your favourite sides.

We'll be accessorising ours with a heap of fries, creamy coleslaw, corn on the cob, southern-baked beans and maybe a bit of side salad for the ultimate chicken dinner.

Who needs the Colonel, eh?

Marks & Spencer have come up trumps with various succulent chicken offerings before, but never a whole-fry.

With chicken recently voted the nation's favourite roast (knocking beef off the top spot) the southern crumbed chicken is an easy way of putting a summery spin on a classic Sunday lunch.

No basting, stuffing or peeling spuds over a hot stove required.

It's the best of an epic takeaway, combined with the best of a weekend roast.

Plus, the southern fried chicken comes with a wallet-friendly price tag of just £7.

April Preston, Director of Product Development for Marks & Spencer said: "We're so excited to be the first to launch a Wholefry Chicken that customers can cook and enjoy at home.

"It's the most delicious, succulent chicken, coated in a Southern fried crumb and when it cooks, it fills the kitchen with the most mouth-watering smell- the whole family will be gathering round the oven!

"We think this is a great summer alternative Sunday dinner, and when it's sunny you don't want to be peeling spuds for a traditional roast, so this is the perfect way to put a new twist on an old favourite.

"Enjoy with a dollop of coleslaw, a crisp side salad and some French fries."

You don't have to ask us twice...
