Cloud Bread Is The DIY Baking Trend You Need To Try

The dreamiest bread we ever did see. And it takes 15 seconds to prepare!

Ah, bread. We love it in all shapes, forms, sizes and flavours. And now we've found a new (and very aesthetically pleasing) variation - cloud bread.

The dreamy carb couldn't be easier to make. In fact, all you need is three ingredients - egg whites, sugar and cornstarch (or cornflour).

If you want to create lots of different colours, you'll need the appropriate food colouring, too. You can also add other sweet treats in - for example chocolate, biscuits, sweets etc.

To find out exactly how to make the light and airy bread, Tyla spoke to Eloise Head - aka @fitwafflekitchen - who rustled up a bright blue, Oreo version as well as a strawberry sprinkle flavour. Yum.

You can watch a video of how Eloise made the bread - in 15 seconds no less! - below:

Here's what you'll need...

Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites
  • 10g cornstarch (or cornflour)
  • 30g sugar
  • Food colouring (optional)
  • Any extras such as chocolate, sweets or biscuits (optional)

All you need to do is mix the three ingredients together in a bowl - adding in any extras - before whisking together and placing on grease proof paper in the shape of a cloud (which allows for a little creative licence).

Eloise told us: "I had seen the Cloud Bread trend on TikTok and really wanted to try it out for myself to see what it tasted like!

"I love Oreo's and everything Cookie Monster, so thought it would be fun to try. The strawberry sprinkles one was great as it gave it a subtle strawberry taste and I love the crunch of the sugary sprinkles.

"I will advise though, it does has an eggy taste, so if only make it if you like eggs!"

The fluffy bread recipe has gone viral on social media, with heaps of other foodies trying out the trend.

One person tried out a blue and white version - which actually looked just like a bright blue, cloudy sky - while another made a red and white 'sunset' cloud bread.

We know what we're rustling up this weekend!
