ASDA Just Changed The Christmas Sandwich Game With This Vegan and Free From Range
When the Christmas sandwiches emerge, the festive season has well and truly begun, and if you're gluten-free, completely meat-free or you're just cutting down, ASDA may have just won Christmas for you. Because we've tried their new Vegan and Free From range - and it is good.
First up, the brand new Vegan Festive Bubble and Squeak sandwich, which got full marks in the official Pretty 52 taste test, and at only £2.50, is one of the best value vegan options around.
So why would our taster "definitely go for this sandwich again"? Well, besides the fact the sandwich is fully accredited by the Vegan Society, it's absolutely delicious.
The sandwich is stuffed with tasty bubble and squeak vegetable fritters, Christmas-spiced braised red cabbage, spiced chutney and complemented with fresh spinach and a vegan sage and onion mayonnaise.
And all that festive filling is kept in check with sage and onion-infused bread, which really stood out for one member of the Pretty team in our taste test. "The first thing I noticed was the quality of the bread - the sage and onion gave it a really nice texture that really made it stand out against other shop-bought sandwiches I've had," they said.
"The cabbage was really delicious, complimenting the sweetness of the bubble and squeak, which itself was quite reminiscent of traditional stuffing. I would definitely go for this one again".
If you want all the Christmas trimmings just without the gluten, ASDA has you covered. Its Free From Turkey and Stuffing sandwich (£2.50), has all the Christmas festive must-haves: turkey breast with pork, sage and onion stuffing, cranberry sauce plus spinach and deliciously seasoned mayo - all on gluten-free multigrain bread.
