People Are Absolutely Howling With Laughter At Dorothy Perkins' Hashtag Fail
There's nothing better than a poorly-considered hashtag. Up until now our all-time favourite hashtag ever created was the one for Susan Boyle's debut album launch where fans were encouraged to tweet #SusanAlbumParty. All well and good until people start writing #susanalbumparty all over Twitter and it starts to look like they're promoting "Su's Anal Bum Party."
However, Dorothy Perkins may have blown Subo out of the water with their new hashtag: #LoveDP.
It's pretty innocuous to be fair. Simple, easy to remember, and a quick way to show off your affection for the Dorothy Perkins brand. Everything a hashtag should be!

Unfortunately though, it seems that that 'DP' is also slang for something quite different. Something not very Dorothy Perkins-y at all: double penetration.
For those who haven't ventured to the dark corners of the internet and don't know what this means, double penetration refers to the sexual practice of being penetrated by two implements at the same time. Whether that's one in the mouth and one in the vagina, one in the butt and one in the vagina, two in the butt and none in any other hole, the possibilities are truly endless if you're into those sorts of raunchy shenanigans.
You can Google it if you don't believe how common the abbreviation to 'DP' is. Seriously, it's everywhere. (But maybe don't Google it if you're at work, eh?)
Considering that Dorothy Perkins are such a well-known brand, you'd think at least someone in their marketing department might have foreseen this. Either that or someone just really wanted to see celebrities and shoppers alike sharing their enthusiasm for double penetration.
All the social media posts involving the hashtag take on quite a different tone when you consider the other meaning of 'DP'.
Just ruining the view... There's a new blog post up on my goals for this summer, I'm scrapping my usual monthly goals for seasonal ones instead :cherry_blossom:#linkinbio

To be fair, you could very easily argue that Dorothy Perkins have played an absolute blinder with this one.
After all, look how much attention they're getting and how many people are tweeting about them!
Good work, Dot.
