The Little Mix girls paid tribute to Jesy Nelson this weekend as she skipped the final of Little Mix: The Search and pulled out of their hosting duties at the MTV European Music Awards

The singer, 29, left her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock to name the winner of The Search as a trio on Saturday, where we saw them send Since September home victorious.

And they also had to take to the MTV EMAs stage without her to host, also performing Sweet Melody and picking up two awards - Best Pop and Best UK & Ireland Act.

While the girls kept their spirits high during both TV appearances, their tributes on social media proved they had Jesy on the mind.

Posting a picture of the group holding their two awards, Perrie wrote to her 11million Instagram followers: "What a DREAM come TRUE. To our amazing fans THANK YOU.

"Thank you for EVERYTHING you do. We hosted, performed and won TWO AWARDS all thanks to you.

"Wish our girl Jesy coulda been there! Thanks @mtvema for having us!"

Meanwhile, Jade wrote to her 6.9million followers: "Years ago we dreamed of even being invited to the @mtv EMAs.

"Tonight we hosted the show, performed and won 2 awards, the only thing missing was our Jesy.

"Thank you so much to all of our fans who voted and to @mtvema for having us."

Speaking to her six million followers, Leigh-Anne penned: "Hol up?? Did someone say two EMA awards?

"I can't believe we hosted, performed and then to top it all off you guys won us TWO EMA's! Where would we be without our mixers????

"You guys are truly the best fans anyone could ever ask for! We just so wish Jesy could have been there too! Thank you so much @mtvema for having us."

While we don't know much about why Jesy had to miss the shows, a rep for the band said on Saturday: "Jesy is unwell and will not be appearing on tonight's final of Little Mix The Search.

"She will also not be hosting or performing at tomorrow's MTV EMAs."

Jesy's reps said she was 'unwell' (

It comes after Jesy sparked concern from fans after looking downcast in a promotional clip for the band's new album Confetti, which has since been deleted.

In the past, the singer has spoken publicly about her struggles with the spotlight in her BBC documentary, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out revealing the negative impact public scrutiny had on her mental health, and how it had even once left her suicidal.

Taking to social media after Jesy's no-show this weekend, one fan wrote: "I'm really upset that Jesy is unwell, i wish her all the best and I hope she gets better soon. Physical and mental health is so important and sometimes you need to make it your priority instead of a major event in your career. Sending all my love to Jesy".

While another penned: "Sending all my love to Jesy, being unwell is hard enough without being expected to keep up appearances in the public eye so take some well deserved time off".

At present, there is no indication that Jesy's absence was linked to her mental health.

We hope she's okay!
