Beyoncé And Elton John Reportedly Working On New Lion King Songs
Elton John and Beyoncé are reportedly working on new versions of the classic The Lion King songs.
Bey is set to voice Nala in the remake of the film, which is tipped to be released in 2019. But that's so far away?!
Donald Glover is going to be appearing as Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari alongside the former Destiny's Child star.
And now it has been reported that the international pop star is creating new music along with Sir Elton for the Disney remake.
The New York Daily News has claimed that the mum-of-three is collaborating with our Elton in the studio on tracks like 'Circle of Life' and 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight'.
In the original 1994 Disney film, Elton John contributed loads of songs to the soundtrack, and has now allegedly agreed to a deal with the brand that allows him to recreate his original songs for the next The Lion King.
The move could see Elton make a whopping $13 million.
Not bad, Elton. Not bad.
Speaking to the publication, a LA source revealed: "Elton is working with Disney on this new Lion King project. They have reached an agreement to present some reworked versions of the classic hits and perhaps some new work.
"The songs will be thread into the story line. It is unthinkable when you have Beyoncé involved not to have her sing some of those iconic hits - and that means huge sales to a new generation."
The insider continued: "The deal is a huge one and will earn him millions at many stages. Obviously he will get a one off licensing deal followed by a cut in royalties from all aspects of the work."
And seeing as Sir Elton was awarded an Oscar of 'Best Original Song' for 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight', it's safe to say that expectations for his and Bey's new music are pretty high.
Hakunana Ma-tatas, I can't wait for 2019 now.
