Prince Harry spotted at Heathrow Airport immediately after King's coronation finished

Harry left before the coronation celebrations were over

It's been a whirlwind trip across the pond for Prince Harry, who was spotted at London's Heathrow Airport just hours after his father became the new King.

Harry joined other members of the royal family in Westminster Abbey today (6 May) to witnesses the moment Charles was officially crowned as the new monarch alongside his wife, Queen Camilla.

While Harry's brother, Prince William, occupied the front row with his wife and three children, Charles' youngest son sat by himself on the third row back at Westminster, with his wife Meghan Markle opting to stay at home in California with their two children.

Viewers noticed Harry didn't appear to sing along to the national anthem as the ceremony took place, prompting some fans of the monarchy to brand him a 'disgrace'.

The coronation celebrations continued after the Westminster ceremony with a procession back to Buckingham Palace, where the new King and Queen greeted their fans with an appearance on the palace balcony.

They were also joined by William and Kate, while Harry was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, he was already making his journey home to where his oldest child, Archie, is currently celebrating his sixth birthday.

The prince has been spotted at Heathrow, where departure times indicate that he'll be hopping on a direct flight to Los Angeles.

The timings match what a lip reader was able to glean from the royal at the coronation, where they believed he was seen telling Princess Eugenie's husband, Jack, he would be leaving at 'about quarter to four'.

Prior to the coronation, a royal source told the Mirror that Harry's return to the UK from California would only be a brief.

"After much back and forth, Harry said that he would be returning for the King's Coronation but it will only be a fleeting visit," they said.

"Organisers have been told Harry won't be attending the concert with the rest of the Royal Family, which is a great shame as it will be such a spectacular event."

A source also told Page Six that the Duke would be doing his best to get back in time to celebrate his son's birthday, which will reportedly be marked with an intimate bash.

“Harry’s going to make every effort to get back in time for Archie’s birthday,” they said. "It’s going to be an intimate party, it’s not going to be like ‘My Super Sweet 16’ or Portia de Rossi’s 50th!”
