Britain To Bask In Mini 24C Heatwave This Week

Time to crack out the Pimms, we think.

Despite not being able to enjoy it in a way we normally would, it was definitely a mood booster to have some sunny weather over the weekend.

And it seems the glorious sunshine is set to continue for at least part of this week, with highs of 24 degrees celsius expected for Wednesday and Thursday.

The mini heatwave will span across the whole of the UK, before cooler conditions return for Easter weekend.

Across the country, Brits will enjoy some very warm weather, with the Met Office confirming that southern and south eastern areas of England will reach up to 24 degrees celsius.

Meanwhile, northern areas such as Manchester and Leeds will see temperatures of up to 22, meaning we'll be treated to a nationwide mini heatwave.

A Met Office spokesperson told Tyla: "It's going to feel widely warm across the UK on Wednesday and Thursday but the places most likely to see temperatures reaching 24 are most likely to be southern England and south east England, including the London area as well.

"For much of central and northern England it's still going to be warm, into the high teens and low twenties.

"It will be a little bit cloudy on Wednesday and Thursday, with hazy sunshine, but still very much feeling like a summer's day."

Sadly, the warm weather won't be continuing into the bank holiday weekend, with temperatures tumbling on Saturday and Sunday as well as a band of heavy rain setting in across the UK on Saturday.

Of course, unless you are lucky enough to have a garden, it can be difficult to enjoy the warm weather - except for on your one exercise outing per day. But please, do not attempt to defy the lockdown by gathering in parks, open spaces or beaches.

Over the weekend, a number of individuals were pictured enjoying barbecues in outdoor public areas, which is totally unacceptable in the current lockdown.

Instead, do your best to let in as much fresh air as possible - open all your windows, enjoy a good walk and don't forget to step outside to clap for the NHS at 8pm on Thursday!
