McDonald's brings a family together in tearjerking Christmas advert

McDonald's have finally released their Christmas advert and it's a proper tear jerker.

McDonald's have finally released their Christmas advert and it's a proper tear jerker.

Check out the ad here:

In the ad, a young boy can be seen excitedly preparing for the big day, writing an extra long list to Santa.

Unfortunately, the list gets taken away by a big gust of wind and, no matter how hard he reaches, he just can't get his list back.

But he does manage to go for a cheeky Maccies with his mum and dad, who ask him what exactly was on his list anyway.

And all that's left of the giant list is a picture of his family and home, reminding us what's important this festive season.

The little lad writes his list for Santa.

It's safe to say we properly teared up, and it certainly didn't help that there was a beautiful cover of 'Only You' by Becky Hill.

People loved seeing the advert too, with one user writing: "BECKY HILL HAS DONE THE 2022 MCDONALDS CHRISTMAS AD OMG."

They even wrote a follow-up tweet, praising McDonald's for their excellent taste in music: "MABES LAST YEAR AND BECKY THIS YEAR THIS IS SO SLAY."

Still, it should come as no surprise that the fast food chain knocked the ad out of the park, with people also remembering their past home runs, including the 2020 tear jerker that followed a mother as she desperately tries to get her teenage son to put down his tech and take part in his family's festive rituals.

But he soon realises the meaning of Christmas.

Glued to his phone or plugging in his earphones, the reluctant teen disengages himself from activities like putting up the Christmas tree decorations or browsing markets for presents.

Eventually, the worried mum manages to win her son around with a Drive-Thru meal followed by a snowball fight, and he starts to find joy in the festive period once again.

The ad was released as the chain committed to funding 5million meals for food charity FareShare, and again, the Becky Hill soundtrack had us in bits.
