Any Instagram user can now apply to be verified on Instagram after the social media platform rolls out a new launch.
Who doesn't want to achieve a celebrity status and have a blue tick next to your name on Instagram?
Following in the footsteps of Twitter, Instagram is now allowing anyone to apply for verified status, but not all users are guaranteed to be given it.
To request a blue tick, users need to go to their settings and scroll down to 'request verification' to apply.

Instagram then asks for your username, full name and a government-issued photo ID where your name and date of birth is visible.
However, this doesn't mean you will automatically get one.
Instagram states the check will 'indicate that the account is the authentic presence of a notable figure, celebrity, global brand or entity it represents'.
It goes on to point out: "Submitting a request for verification does not guarantee that your account will be verified."

The social media platform has also upped security measures on the site in the latest update.
The update comes not long after users realised that the new question feature isn't anonymous.
All you need to do is add the question feature to a snap on your Instagram story, and all of your followers can ask whatever they want.
However, loads of Instagram users have actually only just realised that the feature isn't anonymous - only after sending their mates brutal questions.

Your username also gets sent to them along with the question, and not everyone knew this before using the feature.
People took to Twitter to reveal their embarrassing Instagram fails, and it's cringe worthy to say the least.
"This Instagram question thing got me f*cked up. I thought it was anonymous so I told my boy that his girl is ugly," exclaimed one person.

And another revealed: "Just realised those instagram question things in the stories isnt anonymous lmao I just told 3 random people that they're kinda ugly af [sic]."
"How can my boy think the Instagram question thing is anonymous so he told his own girl she needs to lose weight," fumed a third.
