Now, we look at our phones every single day, and I'm sure many of us spend hours upon hours doomscrolling on a rotation of our three favourite apps.
However, it's clear not all of us are totally clued up on every single function of our iPhones, with Apple users now being warned over little orange dot at the top of your screen.
Jamie Nyland, who goes by the handle @mrjamienyland online, took to TikTok to explain to his 2.4 million what the little dots actually mean.
"If you see this orange dot on your phone, you need to get help seriously fast," he urged.

Jamie went on to claim: "If you see an orange dot like this on top of your iPhone, this means someone is listening to you.
"It’s been all over the news, and in fact the orange dot is a warning sign from Apple that someone is using your microphone without your permission."
He added: "If you have no apps open and this is still there, then someone is spying on your phone and listening to your conversations.
"So if you see this orange dot, turn your phone off immediately and go and get help."

People were clearly freaked out by Jamie's video with one viewer admitting: "I’m scared!"
A second wondered: "I think it's called spyware?"
"Stay safe..." warned a third.
While that all sounds very stressful, Apple has actually already explained that the little orange dot doesn't necessarily mean that the microphone is being used without your permission.

Instead, the symbol just means that the microphone is in use.
The tech giant's official support website page explains: "An orange indicator means the microphone is being used by an app on your iPhone.
"This indicator will appear as an orange square if the Differentiate Without Colour setting is turned on in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size.
"A green indicator means either the camera only or the camera and microphone are being used by an app on your iPhone."

And it seems TikTok users also already caught light of that with one writing: "It just means the microphone is in use."
"Just means your mic is live, not that someone is listening in," penned a second, while a third chimed in: "It doesn’t mean someone’s listening to you, it means there’s an app using your microphone or was using it recently."
And a final TikTok user assured: "All it means is your microphone is in use."
