Groom faces life in prison just days after controversial £46 million 'wedding of the century'

Groom faces life in prison just days after controversial £46 million 'wedding of the century'

Jacob LaGrone is being charged with allegedly firing a gun at cops

Your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, when the love that you and your partner share is made official for the world to see.

And we have no doubt that this was the case for bride Madelaine Brockway and groom Jacob LaGrone, who tied the knot in November this year.

But if you're reading this story and recognise the names of Madelaine and Jacob, it's likely because clips of their nuptials have since gone viral online, after their ceremony was dubbed the 'wedding of the century'.

What could have constituted giving their wedding such a prestigious title? You may be wondering.

Well, the duo actually exchanged vows over a FIVE DAY wedding, which included an elaborate rehearsal dinner at the Palais Garnier in Paris, an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles and even an intimate performance by none other than Maroon 5.

Clips of their special day were naturally shared on social media in the days that followed, after it was revealed that Madelaine and Jacob splashed out $56 million for their wedding.

And while viewers expected the pair's star-studded nuptials to be followed by an equally flashy honeymoon, this story includes the plot twist to end all plot twists.

Within days of marrying Madelaine - the 26-year-old daughter of Bob Brockway, who owns Mercedes-Benz dealerships across Florida - Jacob was arrested on suspicion of firing a gun at police officers earlier this year.

Groom, Jacob, could face life imprisonment.

29-year-old Texas-born Jacob is currently being charged with aggravated assault against a public servant after he allegedly fired at cops in March.

The officers in question had received multiple calls reporting a disturbance at a home in Texas when Jacob is believed to have started shooting at them.

Her husband could potentially face up to life imprisonment if he is convicted of the alleged crime, being that a crime against an officer than results in serious bodily injury is a first-degree felony in Texas.

However, the 29-year-old has been offered a plea deal in which he would agree to plead guilty in exchange for a sentence of 25 years in prison.

As well as deleting her TikTok account, Madelaine opted not to appear in Tarrant County District Court in Fort Worth, Texas, last Thursday (30 November), where her husband arrived for a motion hearing in the case.

She has also made her Instagram account private.
