Gemma Collins Shares Heartbreaking Pic Of Her Dad Alan Battling Coronavirus

Gemma Collins has told fans that both her parents are battling Covid-19.

Gemma Collins has shared a picture lying next to her dad, Alan, who is currently battling coronavirus.

The reality star, 39, warned fans to take the pandemic seriously as she revealed that both her parents are battling the deadly virus.

Alongside the snap of her holding her frail 72-year-old dad's hand, she wrote on Twitter last night: "Covid is so scary lying next to my dad holding his hand right now.

"I am sharing this to create awareness of how real Covid is."

It comes after health secretary Matt Hancock reveald covid-19 cases across England were up 57 per cent in a week.

TOWIE star Gemma recently revealed Alan heartbreakingly told her he would "rather be dead" than suffer from the debilitating virus for any longer.

She also detailed how her dad broke down in tears after contracting Covid, told fans that he and her mother, Joan, 65, were "extremely unwell".

"Please please please take notice of the guidelines ! Both my parents are extremely unwell with Covid 19!," Gemma wrote.

"Seeing my dad cry which he never does ! Was a shock and say he would rather be dead then experience everything his is going through right now... this has totally wiped him out and it's heartbreaking my mum also is extremely extremely unwell with Covid also, this is real !

"And please please take notice and keep your loved ones SAFE ...it really is petrifying...what a difference a year makes(sic)."

Gemma also shared an old video of her parents out for dinner on her Insta' story, writing: "What a difference a year makes. Please stay safe and stay home. Thank you to everyone who has offered well wishes and help."

It comes after Gemma told fans that her mum, Joan, had been at a higher risk of catching infections due to her rheumatoid arthritis.

Even more of England is set to join the new Tier 4 ahead of Boxing Day, as Covid-19 infection rates rise. The government are advising people to be vigilant this Christmas, and follow local guidelines to avoid the spread of the virus.
