Piers Morgan left his followers in disbelief with a throwback snap of his youthful-looking dad Glynne - who looks more like his brother.

The controversial presenter, 55, posted the family photo to celebrate Glynne's birthday, sharing that he was disappointed not to be able to spend the special day together.

Taken in St Tropez last year, the picture shows Piers' family - including his daughter Elise - on holiday.

Captioning the snapshot, Piers wrote: "Happy Birthday to my Dad, who looks younger than me every year.

"This pic was taken in St Tropez last year, where we would all have been again this week, doubtless celebrating with a long lunch in Club 55.

"Instead, we'll have to settle for a Zoom chat later... c'est la nouvelle vie."

Piers and Glynne are not biologically related. The Good Morning Britain host's father died when he was 11 months old and Glynne later became his step-dad when he married Piers' mum, Gabrielle.

Piers' followers were stunned by Glynne's fresh-faced appearance, commenting that he looked more like the TV star's brother than his dad.

"Wow!!" responded one surprised commentator. "He looks like your brother not your Dad! Good genes!"

Another chimed in: "He actually does look younger."

"Looks like ur brother not Dad, Piers!" agreed a third user.

While a fourth responded: "Your Dad? Wow! He doesn't look old enough. Happy birthday to him."

Glynne, we'd like to know what moisturiser you're using, please.

This isn't the only friendly teasing Piers has experienced recently - just last week he was left blushing on Good Morning Britain as the world's oldest identical twins flirted outrageously with him.

Doris Hobday and Lil Cox, both 95, seemed to take a shine to the TV journalist as they spoke to him from Lil's daughter's home in Tipton about their secrets to a long and happy life.

Pointing at Doris, Lil joked: "Her secret... plenty of sex".

While an embarrassed Doris gasped and quickly interrupted Lil, Piers burst out laughing.

Piers went on to ask the pair about Lil's crush on actor Jason Statham, which she has been very vocal about in the past.

Earlier this month Piers interviewed the world's oldest identical twins (

"One night with him and I'd die happy," she declared.

Turning to Piers, she added: "Mind you, I'm coming on to you now".

A somewhat flustered Piers replied: "You're flirting outrageously, both of you."

Several viewers suggested the pair should be given their own show, while many more called for them to have a regular slot with Piers and Susanna.
