I'm not sure where this trend of inundating a celeb's social media with snake emojis in the comments section has emerged from, but I think we get the point now.

Little Mix's Perrie Edwards is the latest celeb who has fallen victim to a flood of snakes from angry trolls who targeted her because of her boyfriend's 'transfer' to a new football club. SMH.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked to a transfer from Arsenal to Chelsea - his current club's Premier League rivals. A deal for the transfer hasn't even been reached yet though. Hmmm, so where does Perrie come into this exactly?

Fans covered the singer's Instagram with snake emojis and nasty comments about the potential transfer. Wow, people get really passionate about football, don't they?! Personally, I don't get all the fuss.

"Chamberlain anyone but Chelsea you traitor broke our hearts you scum bag," commented one angry fan on Perrie's latest Insta.

Another added: "Your bf is a f*cking snake [sic]."

One user posted: "Ur dating a snake be careful they bite [sic]."

"Your bf is a bloody w*nker leaves after all we did for him and the patience we had," commented a final angry follower.

Little Mix fans stuck up for her, and tried to get rid of all the hate she was recieving by posting hundreds of love heart emojis and kind messages. How sweet.

"I cant understand why people hate on Perrie because Alex left Arsenal, it was his choice and he's happy with it," wrote one user.

Another Little Mix fan wrote: "She's done nothin she's being a supportive girlfriend just because he's got a better deal dose not mean u take it out on Perrie [sic]."

"Y'all hating on her because of alex but its his choose to leave arsenal thanks. Haters gonna hate," commented a final fan of the singer.

Perrie recently revealed that she wanted to be with Alex for the rest of her life in a sweet Insta snap:

She isn't the only Little Mix member to receive a public backlash recently. The whole band was blasted by angry fans after they appeared to mock TOWIE star Georgia Kousoulou's 'everything £5' ad...

Let's all just kiss and make up, shall we?
