People don't know how to feel after world's first 'bed-making machine' goes viral

I mean, that's one way to knock 'change the bed' off your chores list.

Instagram users are absolutely baffled upon discovering the world’s first-ever ‘bed-making machine’ has been created.

When it comes to tackling that never-ending list of chores, we all have that one task we just hate to be faced with, right?

For some, it’s washing the dishes, others it’s putting clothes away and for many it’s changing the bed sheets week after week.

However, one inventor has designed a machine that could truly revolutionise the way we make the bed - and he’s posted the results to Instagram.

On Wednesday (20 March) a viral user known as Joseph’s Machines posted a video advert for the beloved sleep brand, Silentnight.

The clip - shared with the star’s 1.6 million followers - first sees Joseph grabbing his pyjamas off a mattress.

However, taking the loungewear set off the bed begins a chain of events, which includes knocking over a lamp.

This immediately triggers a contraption to unleash a crumpled up mustard bottom sheet.

From there, a wooden square successfully stretches the sheet over the mattress before a box emblazoned with the phrase ‘Silentnight Just sleep’ spills out two pillows at the top of the mattress.

The inventor himself can be seen rejoining the scene, where he knocks down the lamp again.

This time, the action unleashes a duvet cover from the wall, which is then rolled out on top of him as he snuggles into the warmth.

The clip then sees a branded eyemask being lowered into the scene, before Joseph grabs the teddy bear on his nightstand.

The social media star picked up his teddy pair to knock out the lights.

However, this plushie is actually used to switch off the bedside nightlight- completing the brilliant bedmaking scene in 10-seconds flat.

It’s a pretty unbelievable watch and the viral clip has already been viewed over 11.3 million times since it was posted earlier this week.

The advert has also been shared to Silentnight’s 43,300 Instagram followers with the caption: “Have you seen the world’s first bed making machine?”

After viewing, one Instagram user commented: “What in the Wallace and Gromit… how amazing would it be to have the bed made for you.”

A second commented: “Wow!!!!!! This is the future!!!!”

Elsewhere, another user wrote: “From henceforth, this is the only way to do a paid sponsorship.”

A fourth said: “Sheet changed in 10 seconds, but why nobody is concerned about the setup! It probably took hours to get everything in place, to fall in place.”

“Not very practical, you had to grab the teddy bear with your own hands,” joked another.

Speaking about the invention, Jason Mcilvenny, Head of Brand at Silentnight, said: “We know how much the nation loves their bed and there’s nothing better than that fresh sheet feeling to help you drift off to sleep, but actually changing the sheets and making the bed is far from anyone’s favourite pastime!

“We’re always looking for ways to innovate, which is why we challenged Joseph to create the world’s first bed making machine.

“While we can’t promise everyone will be able to recreate Joseph’s contraption at home, we would encourage everyone to try their hand at building a good bedtime routine to help ensure they are getting the vital rest they need.”
