Woman left mortified after staff mocked her for going bra-free in restaurant

Kaylah Ingemi was enjoying a nice meal out with her boyfriend before the incident.

A woman was left mortified after staff 'mocked her' for going bra-free in a restaurant as her nipples were showing through her top.

Kaylah Ingemi was surprised by her boyfriend Ayoub Bezzaz with a dinner reservation at a seafood and grill restaurant in a town near to Lowell, Massachusetts, US.

But as the couple tucked into their starter of fresh oysters on 10 July, they noticed a group of girls laughing in their direction.

The couple initially ignored the rowdy crowd until one woman from the group walked over to their table.

Looking at Kaylah's chest and then looking back at her friends, the person said: "Hey look, that's the one we were talking about."

Understandably, Kaylah was lefts shocked and insecure about the whole situation, with the couple opting to finishing their meal and leaving without having a dessert.

Kaylah was understandably left shocked by the incident.

The 28-year-old believes the group were 'staff on their day off' as other workers repeatedly joined them at the table.

"I was just out to eat on my birthday with my boyfriend," Kaylah said.

"I saw a group of girls that were pretty rowdy, they looked pretty young like in their early twenties.

"They just kept looking over at us and we didn't really mention anything at first.

"I wasn't really sure what was so funny, and I thought it was me overthinking so I just ignored it."

Kaylah then went on to discuss the moment the woman came over and laughed, saying: "I was just in shock and kept thinking, do I look funny?

"We determined that it was probably that I had no bra on and it was cold in there."

Unfortunately, the incident cut short the couple's night, as she didn't want it to 'ruin' her birthday.

"I just felt discouraged," Kaylah added.

The mocking happened on Kaylah's birthday.

Kaylah has ditched bras ever since she embarked on a five-stone weight loss journey in 2020 after being diagnosed with EDS - a rare condition that can affect the skin and make it more fragile.

Kaylah has since posted about the encounter online, and has attracted closer to 3,000 likes and comments.

Many flocked to the comments to praise her for documenting the story and her bra-free journey in general.

"I wasn't expecting people [online] to be so understanding. The responses were heartwarming," Kaylah said.

"I'd say to any other women out there, do what makes you comfortable because no matter what people are going to have opinions on it.

"You shouldn't suppress your comfort and your happiness just for other people you're never going to see again in your life."
