It’s one thing if your guests are late to the wedding you’ve spent months, if not years, planning. But what about when they attend the wrong one all together?
Arti Mala had a total nightmare when she travelled over 3,000 miles to attend her friend’s wedding in Scotland.
After a 12-hour flight from her home in Washington, D.C. to Glasgow on Saturday 12 August, she soon realised that she wasn’t at her pal’s Gaurav’s wedding at all.

She’d instead arrived at Pollokshaw Burgh Hall and eventually discovered she was at the ceremony of two strangers – Caitlin and Stephen.
Arti shared a video of her blunder, showing her looking embarrassed by the marriage mix-up.
The on-screen text reads: “POV: You travelled more than 3,000 miles and accidentally showed up to the wrong wedding.”
Arti, wearing a green traditional Punjabi dress, pans the camera round to show the welcome sign reading: “Caitlin and Stephen. 12.08.2023. Thank you for sharing our special day with us.”
And the guests even got involved, with Caitlin’s brother cradling a pint and joking: “You’ve come to Scotland from America and came to the wrong wedding.”

Arti is left in fits of giggles as she replies: “Yeah. It’s true.”
Even the groom chimes in and tells the camera: “My wedding,” before pointing to his bride to say: “And her wedding, actually.”
Seeing the funny side, Arti concludes: “I’m at the wrong wedding!”
A little red-faced but not letting it get her down, she ‘finally’ hops in an Uber to the ‘right wedding’ but did unfortunately miss the speeches.
But she makes it in time for the party, that’s for sure.

The video shows Gaurav’s wedding, where guests in kilts and traditional Punjabi outfits dance in a conga line as a mix of Scottish and Punjabi music bops away.
Arti adds the text: "Scottish fam understood the assignment."
The whole mix-up happened when she ordered an Uber to Pollokshaws Burgh Hall in Glasgow's Southside.
However, her friend’s wedding was actually taking place at Pollokshields Burgh Hall.

Luckily for Arti, the correct venue was only a six-minute-drive away so she was able to quickly grab another Uber to her friend’s wedding.
She took to social media to share the footage on Monday (14 August), writing: “Congratulations, Caitlin and Stephen. "Thanks for being such good sports and inviting me in for a drink.”
The video received over 34,200 likes and dozens of comments from viewers left in stitches by this marriage mix-up,

One person wrote: “Somewhere in this story is your future husband, even if you’ve got one now.”
Another said: “Pollokshaws Borough Hall and Pollokshields Borough Hall. Easy mistake to make.”
While a third joked: “You Outlandered yourself.”
And a fourth added: “"The (polite) Wedding Crasher’ would make an amazing movie.”
It’s certainly a story for Arti to tell and a hilarious memory for Caitlin and Stephen to share from their wedding day.
