Having to decline a job offer can be tricky - and often, painfully awkward - business.
After all, you've spent weeks preparing for and conducting interviews, fulfilling tasks and briefs they've sent over to evaluate their competency, and made it all the way to the job offer stage.
At this point, the likelihood is that the company has invested as much hope in you as you've invested time into the process.

So if, for whatever reason, the job offer doesn't quite fit your needs or suite your lifestyle at the end of the day, turning it down can very much feel like a risky decision.
You can never predict how the employer will react? Will they tell you you've wasted their time? Will they blacklist you from future job opportunities? Will they involve your current boss?
These are all worries that cross our minds when we're declining job offers.
With that in mind, one woman on TikTok is appealing to business bosses and recruitment heads to be more kind during the often arduous process - even if a potential employee is weighing up - or even shutting down - your job offer.

This comes after she received the most delightful 'green flag' email from a company's PR department, despite rejecting their offer of employment.
Stephanie - known by the username @essenceofstephanie - uploaded her happy revelation on the video-sharing app, including a note she received from HR after telling them she'd accepted another job at a different company.
"Okay this is actually the f**king best," she told viewers. "This is the email that was sent to me from a company that I just told I wasn’t going to take their employment offer because I got a better one."

It was then that she went on to read out the employer's email, which comprised of a list of thing they respected about her Stephanie's work ethic.
The message began 'as discussed and agreed on the phone', before going on to provide her with a number of encouraging points about her demeanour during the hiring process.
They kicked things off by admitting that they were 'very very sad' that she would not be joining the company, before insisting they were 'happy' for her receiving a better offer than the one they had.
The firm added that they wanted to 'keep in touch' with their formerly-prospective employee, and encouraged her to let them know if 'things are not as you expected'.

Lastly, the HR representative joked about the Stephanie sending 'a clone' of herself to fill the role in her absence, before going on to wish her 'all the best' in her future endeavours.
"That’s the best. That is the f*cking best," she concluded the video.
And by the looks of it, the social media star isn't the only person impressed by the company's supporting nature, after hoards of followers gushed over the message.
"That would make me reconsider so fast," one confessed.

Another teased: "Imagine us sweeping all the formal jargon and we just be our informal but respectful selves? Adulting would be so much more fun."
A third joked: "My guess is this is a young millennial hiring manager giving millennial and gen Z energy."
