Women say game-changing flirting tip can make someone fall in love with you instantly

There are some pretty horrific dating trends going around at the moment, from ghosting to zombieing – it’s all pretty bleak.

However, women have been sharing a supposedly game-changing flirting tip that they claim makes people instantly fall in love with you (Yes, really).

In fact, the ‘triangle method’ has become such a go-to that the dating hack has begun trending on social media.

For those of you who’ve yet to discover this phenomenon, it basically revolves around using subtle eye contact to capture your crush’s attention.

Rather than rattling off a cheesy chat-up line or waiting patiently for them to approach, the triangle method gets you to make eye contact and gaze into one of their eyes.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to linger for a few seconds before slowly moving to the other eye and then down towards their mouth.

While it might feel pretty awkward at first, the technique is meant to be kryptonite to any potential cutie.

It seems that there is something in this, as the dating tactic has rapidly gained over 39 million views on TikTok with the hashtag #trianglemethod.

Surprisingly, some women have been doing this for years, with multiple users only just realising this and then gushing about their insane results.

In fact, someone even claims that it gives their other half 'butterflies' or instantly makes them stumble over the words in a rom-com-esque way.

But why is this oh-so-simple method so effective in the dating world?

Well, there are actually a couple of reasons, including the fact that prolonged eye contact is meant to cause phenylethylamine to be released.

The chemical is often thought to be the key to attraction, with eye contact also stimulating the release of the so-called ‘love hormone’ oxytocin which is associated with long-term bonding.

Furthermore, the triangle method is thought to be an easy way to communicate your interest without coming on too strong or forward.

Relationship expert Tina Fey (not the A-Lister) told Elite Daily that this clever dating hack is an easy way to show how confident you are.

She explained: “It’s a nonthreatening way to show you’re confident and interested in the person and hoping to spark a conversation.”

Of course, there should be a small warning attached to this hack, as you’ll need to make sure you don’t stare too long.

Though it’s lovely to gaze at the object of your affection, looking at them for too long may come across as creepy or like you are up for an intense staring contest.

Maybe we’ll just stick to dating apps instead, eh?
