Doctor issues gross warning about kissing men with facial hair

A dermatologist has issued a warning about kissing men with facial hair.

TikToker @dermdoctor - aka Muneeb Shah - shared his medical advice after a video of a woman suffering with a painful skin condition started doing the rounds online.

The OG clip sees a woman sitting with her head in her hands, discussing how she was living in regret after kissing a man with a beard.

In the video, the woman shares a series of selfies, which reveal her red, itchy and scaly chin.

"Kissing a guy with facial hair thinking it was a good idea at the time," she wrote.

Responding to the video, @dermdoctor explained exactly why the woman had been suffering and what people can do about it.

"Beards carry a bunch of bacteria and when you rub against them they create tiny little cuts in the skin," he said.

"Which can lead to infections like impetigo."

The doc advised: "Clean your beards."

According to the NHS website, impetigo begins with red sores or blister which often burst and leave crusty, golden-brown patches.

Impetigo is contagious, so it can spread to other parts of your body - or to other people.

The skin condition - which is not usually serious - is often treated with hydrogen peroxide cream, antibiotic cream or tablets if it's severe.

The good news is impetigo often gets better in seven to 10 days if you get treatment.

TikTokers were completely shocked by the video, with many concerned that some people don't actually wash their facial hair.

"... Are there people who don't wash their beard?" One asked.

And another said: "If a man went as far as ruining my clear skin I would become violent."

A third added: "Everyone asking how to wash your beard do y’all not wash your face? Do you only wash the exposed skin on your face? Just wash the WHOLE face hello?!"

"There are literally whole brands dedicated to beard washing MEN BE BETTER," wrote another.

Others praised their partners for having such good beard hygiene, with one commenting: "My husband has had a full beard for the entirety of our 5+ years together and that has never happened to me because HE WASHES IT!"
