Furious bride cuts best friend from wedding after she planned to skip reception for Taylor Swift concert

Furious bride cuts best friend from wedding after she planned to skip reception for Taylor Swift concert

The Aussie bride ended up giving her gal pal the chop

The run-up to a wedding is supposed to be the period during which the bridal party keep the wife-to-be as calm and collected as possible.

For one Aussie bride, however, this was FAR from the case, after one of her bridesmaids broke the astonishing news that she planned to blow off part of her wedding reception, having bagged last minute Taylor Swift concert tickets.

Speaking on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev, and Nick radio show last month, bridesmaid Olivia, opened up about her plans to sneak away from her long-time gal pal Jess's nuptials to attend one of the 'Eras' tour's Down Under dates.

The big-time 'Swifty' told listeners, "I know how annoyed she’s gonna be,” unaware that the troublesome hosts would had also invited bride-to-be Jess onto the show.

"I haven’t told you that I got tickets for the Saturday, and this was done before Christmas,” Olivia eventually confessed, adding that she hoped they'd be able to arrange a 'compromise'.

An audibly infuriated Jess then hit back: "Is this a prank? Are you joking?"

She went on to slam her now ex-pal: "You’ve known this since before December. It’s three weeks before my wedding, and you’re telling me now."

Since the explosive confrontation aired live on air - baffling millions of listeners - followers of the story have been dying to know the outcome of the bridesmaid's predicament.

And in a dramatic update, it is bride Jess that has now lifted the lid on what really went down between her and her BFF behind the scenes...

Appearing on the hit radio show once again - ahead of exchanging vows next weekend (17 February) - she revealed that she was eventually forced to cut Olivia out of the wedding entirely - refusing to let the concert plans ruin her big day.

"Obviously, I was caught off guard when I heard everything on the radio, and I suppose I was pretty mortified that she chose to do it on live air," Jess admitted.

"I was pretty angry, if I'm honest, but Liv and I did speak after the show, and I've told her that she's cut from the wedding.

"She's shown her true colours, so if she wants to go to the concert, she can go to the concert."

Asked how her bridesmaid took the news that she'd been banished from the wedding, Jess said Olivia had tried fighting for her cause.

"She obviously still did wanna take the route that, maybe, she could come for some of the wedding and then leave," the bride explained. "But realistically, that wasn't feasible."

Jess went on: "To choose someone to be your bridesmaid is a pretty big deal - in my eyes at least. And she was a really good friend, and if she saw a Taylor Swift concert as more important, then that's her choice.

"I don't want her as a part of my day. I honestly thought a lot more of her. I wanna say I get it, but also like, this is my wedding."

She then broke down in tears: "It is really emotional. It's meant to be a really exciting time for me, so it just really sucks that someone who I just moved so much has kind of done this."

The radio hosts shared Jess's admission on social media and - by the looks of the comment section - the vast majority of listeners have taken her side of the debate.

"Well done Jess! Glad to see you cut this person from your life and your wedding. I’m a MASSIVE Stones fan, and even if they announced a tour (and let’s be honest it would be their last) I wouldn’t go over a mates wedding," one wrote.

A second continued: "A friendship has been broken and that’s so sad. Can’t blame Jess - could feel her pain and disappointment. Wonder if the bridesmaid has regrets. It was uncomfortable listening to it live."

"I agree with the bride. Choosing a Taylor Swift concert over your duties as a bridesmaid on one of your best friends’ Wedding day is absolutely absurd," a third penned.
